It's too bad NC. I was at the Boston Symphoney a few weeks ago and the crowd, while not exactly rockin' was not uptight either. A lot of local music students probably, not a tux or string of pearls on the audience end of things. Musicians were pretty laid back too, though serious in their delivery of course.

Critics? I agree there. Eh, who needs em? At this point what's great in classical is pretty well trodden territory, and for Gods sake I DON'T need to hear about some 12 tone, post-structuralist BS that is trying to pretend it's music. You want good post classical then listen to jazz.
