Has new music gotten better or worse this year?

Many people complain that the reason record sales are down is that the quality of new music is heading south. Do you agree? Have new releases improved this past year or are they still on a slide?

Look at nationwide radio playlist change since, say, March - probably lowest in 10 years.

Strange, but I have had most pleasure from re-issues this year. A lot of gems from the so called alternative country scene are released this year.

If you mean Pop, Pop has always sucked.Whats wrong with the White Stripes or any number of good bands just don't get air radio play.

I think it's a little bit better. They (engineers) tried it anyway. More music and less electronics, maybe they can hide it more better ! So i love it.

What the major labels are putting out pretty much sucks. When I'm looking for new music I go see live shows in town. A lot of what I listen to these days comes from unsigned bands / musicians.
