I have always been a fan of the Hafler basic design. You might get in touch with Musical Concepts from their ad in "Phile" about possible hotrodding. Even if you drop a couple of bills to improve it, you will still be way below dealer's cost. My old '70s Hafler preamp and newer amp keep my computer humming very nicely. I like the sound of mosfets. That is a lot of horsepower for the money. Now you can start agonizing over your preamp choices. Good luck.
Suggestions for a $300-500 preamp to go with the Hafler 9505?
