I can tell from the vote on cats and dogs that you are in need of suggestions. I would like to know if any readers have used an aftermarket "mod" house to improve standard high end gear. If they have, have they been satisfied or not? Why?
1) What do audiophiles do as their day jobs? 2) What is your most prized audio possession? 3) How/when did you get your wife/significant other to accept your rig/passion for audio? 4) How many audiophiles actually play an instrument and at what level? 5) If you could not have an audio rig, what would your hobby be?
How many of you have one-source equipment in your music system—all Adcom, all Sony, all Krell? Have you tried other manufacturers' equipment in your music chain—and were the results good or bad? Why did you buy all your equipment from the one source? Was it the implied compatability, the aesthetics, the advertising that influenced your choice? Woulde you upgrade to the top-of-the-line items from the one manufacturer of your choice if you had unlimited funds?
