Looking at some photos, the mixer seems to only have optical/toslink or coaxial SPDIF for outputs. These are digital outputs and require being connected to the digital in of a receiver which the Denon does not have, or to an outboard DAC and then into the reciever.

The only way I can see you connecting to the particular Denon you have is by coming off of the appropriate line out jacks on the soundcard with a mini stereo jack (assuming the line outs are stereo) that splits to two (left and right) RCA jacks which would plug in to any free analog input on the Denon, such as an unused DVD or TAPE INPUT.

If I have assumed incorrectly about your equipment let me know or point to some actual specs for the devices and I will try to help.

RG:

Before I read your post I took back the AV Mono cable and decided to go straight out of the sound card to the single "Monitor Out" This did not produce any sound.

Then I read your post and had some red/white RCA jacks on hand and that hooked those up to the single phono jack from the sound card.

At the backside of the Denon I hooked the two up to the CDR/TAPE out option. I put in a Enya CD in my ASUS DVD/Cd player and at first no sound. Then I noticed the button switch on the front left that said "CDR/TAPE" and pushed it in - and PRESTO instant sound.
The front lighted read out of the Denon says "INPUT CDR/TAPE...

So your lead did produce a positive result and I immensely
appreciate your knowledge and insight.

I am hoping you can answer a additional question about the DAC converter box. I checked them on Ebay. Are they the boxes that are mainly for the DTV conversion signals? Or is it for a different audio use of some kind? I ask because I would still like to feed out of the Creative mixer box I paid all that extra money for.

I have been waiting for years to have this improved sound option as my PC centered Klipsch 5.1 Pro Media set started having problems with a short in the volume control switch and just lately the foam on one of the bass pre amp cones gave way and ruined the sound altogether.

Now I have 2 Zenith bookshelf speakers and 2 of the satellite Klipsch's and the music has never sounded better!

Thanks again,

Bill
