There's nothing you can fix inside the amp. Please do not stick your fingers in the amp as there are lethal Voltages in there.

How much do you want to put into repairing this amplifier?

well, im not really a noob when it comes to circuit boards, i run a computer repair shop so i think i somewhat know what im doing...i dont have much money to blow but i do want this unit useable again. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Do a web search for the schematic to this amplifier and dig out the VOM.

ive searched about every site google has for a fisher and cannot find it, maybe i overlooked it though...ill search again, thanks
now what if it is like a resistor or something, can i go and buy the part needed and remove and solder it on the board?

Yes.

That's a general answer. obviously you need the right size/kind of replacement/values, and able to access it on the circuit board, etc but you already know that.

Is it solid-state? If so, from your description of the problem, I would bet you blew a power transistor. Send me a dollar if that's what your diagnostics end up showing.

Now that's kinda sorta the type of question I would expect from someone who shouldn't be sticking a screwdriver - or anything else for that matter - into an amplifier that's plugged in to AC Voltage. If you manage a repair shop, why don't you pay someone to take a look at this unit?
