I've wanted these speakers since I read your reviews here. But $799 was out of my range.

Just thought you'd be interested to know various music retailers are selling these at 1/2 off to make way for the new Epos line. I finally picked up my pair....in fact, I was so happy about it that I bought an extra pair, so now I have a center channel and a spare! :)

I bought a pair yesterday as well and looking for center speaker now. Any chance you want to recoup some of your money and sell your spare speaker?

I am going to jump on the 1/2 off price for the Epic2's, but I had settled on a Marantz CR610 Receiver and see that the speakers are 4 Ohm and the CR610 wants 6-8 Ohm speakers. Is this a serious mis-match? Or can I make it work somehow? (I like the Marantz feature set for general family room usage)

It won't be so much of a problem but you won't be able to crank it as loudly.

Although I will not claim to be a refined listener yet, this combination of Marantz CR610 and the Epos Epic2 speakers is an excellent minimalist combination. I am using it in my living room as a basic home stereo. With the integrated CD player and WiFi streaming capabilities, I can have both the convenience of iTunes/Internet streaming and play high quality CD audio for dedicated listening. I love it!
