Not sure - but I think he mentioned something about the width of the Cobra would have interfered with the record clamp...

I think MF said that the copperhead was made for the criterion table and also to be sold separately for mounting on other manufactures tables. Due to the width (girth) of the copperhead being smaller then the cobra it would not foul on record platter weight when playing the inner tracks.
