CHORD 14000000000000000

checking out the APRIL issue, no comment from CHORD on it's failure to meet it's specs. But it's a GLORIOUS who needs all them extra watts $75,000 product. Let us all remember double the loudness is 10X the power!!! What's a few hundred missing WATTS. Gee, somehow when I went from single to B-AMP now 4 MONO high powered amps, not just volume increase but clarity and CONTROL. From a mere 300W PC to now about 4200W system Watts, but hey, it's not $75,000 worth of special watts, it's just mortal high powered CLEAN, smooth FAST, 800V/us watts, with a freq response out from DC to 500,000Hz. but it doesn't have Glorious metal working, as detailed in the verbage , about how wonderful this miss the spec amp is. StereoPhile continues to entertain. I will continue to subscribe, it's ENTERTAINMENT. At it's best. Now where did I put my Mapingo DOTS, I think I need to control something somewhere. After a session of reading StereoPhile, I need to quickly open up ProAudio Review and Pro Sound News, to get back to reality. thanks StereoPhile, keep up the entertainment, $75,000 amplifier, and it don't even deliver it's advertised specs!!!! And it gets top recomendations in the listings of Recomended components!!!!! With not even a hint of SHAME!!!!

Stereophile should offer DUP a one time, lifetime subscription offer at a discount rate of...oh...$99.99 or something. You could even throw in a Test CD as a bonus!

Yo, Monty,
Seconded! And offer Chord and Continuum Audio Labs a special discount advertising rate for full-color, buck-nekked, centerfold pullouts (complete with special 5% tearoff discount coupons, redeemable on any product that costs $50,000 or more, with trade-ins) of the 1400 amp and the Caliburn/Cobra combo, so DUP will always have access to the best in audio, just in case he should ever want to trade in his AVA's and go analog in style! Cheers, Clifton

I have not yet had the chance to see the April issue, and wonder if any reader has commented on the matter, in the letters page.

If not... that is Bad news. It indicates that the verbose prose around the measured facts has prevented readers from noticing it.

I cant believe that print magazine readers would not be concerned about it, since they should be atleast as intelligent and involved as us on this forum... and Many forum members Have expressed concern.....

So the real loss, ( if there were no letters on the topic in the print edition ) is that of the readers.... Even more that the lost opportunity by Chord to say their piece....

I think the turnaround for letters is too long to make the next month's issue when we send letters.

I bet in May's issue we'll see it.

When I compiled the May issue's "Letters," while I did receive a couple of letters on the Chord review, there was nothing that added to the discussion that had already taken place on this forum.

I suspect that only a Very Very few of the print version readers actually visit this forum..

This thread shows 134 views.... and I Think I had read a mention that Stereophile prints 75,000 cpoies a month ( Is my figure correct - JA ? )

Then, maybe a touch of awareness and reader's feedback, in print would not be inappropriate... ?
