Don't know how else to post an update. This club is starting with a "membership" of two. Next week I'm going to a real audiophile's place to hear Uno's driven by SET. Damn, now I'll know why my setup isn't the ultimate stereo.
Did the Chicago audio society go bust, or is this a new club?
Thanks.
Damn. I thought this was going to be about the Cubs. You guys really know what's important, don't you. Yeah, right.
While you guys are writing about this listening-group crap, I just want you to know that the Cubs are behind, 2-0 in the 6th, during a rain delay.
And it's all your fault.
"Chicago Audio Club," my ass. It's "Chicago Cubs," thank you very much.
You deserve your guilt.
Clifton
Ive had utmost respect for you then you post your a flubs fan !!!!!!
Didnt the last 100 years of futility teach u anything ???
Alan
Clifton has class. Go Cubs.
Let's go Brewers! (Just kidding, y'all. ) The Cubbies looking great this year, way to sweep the Brewskis last week. Getting Rich Harden's going to pay dividends deep into the season. Too bad the NL's going to get spanked by AL again this year, though. Sorry, dudes.
Go Cubs GO! I've listened to or watched every inning this season.
Us Sox fans will just wait for the inevitable North side collapse
You know its coming !!!!!!!!!
Chicago baseball now THIS is an explosive issue. Forget about power cords, tubes vs. solid state, analog vs. digital.
What's up with White Sox fans not being able to be happy for the Cubs and their fans? In case you weren't aware they are in different leagues. If one does well it doesn't hurt the other teams. I like seeing BOTH do well. Unless they meet in the World Series, this or any other year then choosing sides is perfectly natural. In 2005 almost every Cubs fan I know was pulling for YOU guys, including me. For whatever reason I doubt that most White Sox fans would return the favor. Just for the record I grew up at 21st and Halsted
Liking both teams is a north side thing !!
Growing up in the UK you cannot support two teams in the same town, its just not done.
When i first moved to Chicago from the UK I gave both teams an equal and open audition, I just couldnt stomach the lack of passion at Wrigley ( 2000 ) it might be different if I did the same exercise now but in back then the cubs were lovable losers and im afraid thats how a large percentage of people will always view them.
I'll agree that you can only LOVE one, but there is no reason that people must HATE the other. They CHOOSE to hate the other. Especially since they only play 6 games a year against each other. A friendly rivalry is fun, this one goes much further than that and it doesn't have to be that way.
LET'S GO METS! Err.. I mean it's available on vinyl! No, really
You aren't a Yankees fan? I don't care what Jan says there's hope for you yet.
I wouldnt say I hate the cubs.
Its just that im extremely indifferent to them, if they got to a world series and won then cubs fans would come out of the woodwork. I remember in 2003 they all appeared in my local bar, people who id never seen before !! at least in 2005 with the Sox you knew the Sox fans.
So I dont hate them, I jsut dont particularly wish them well and Ill admit I would support the AL team if they ever gotto the world series !!
Sorry if this makes me a bad man, but !!!
At least we can all agree to hate the Yankees !!!
Alan
This is your BPE (best post ever), Alex.
I figured that would get your attention

I have been a Cub fan since 1952, growing up in Aurora. I will give you one answer to the last question: Daddy-O.
I was only about 6 or 7 when Daddy-O came to see by father who had polio. What a gracious man who was a huge help to our family in the early "50s". My Dad was an avid record collector (78s) and I used to play DJ for him endlessly. There would be live jam sessions in our living room to keep my dad's spirits up. Even Stan Kenton played the piano for my Dad in our home. That will make you a music lover if nothing else. I still have fond memories of the beautiful RCA, mohogany cabinet hifi my Dad was given to listen to music on. One "full-range" 8" driver with bass and treble controls. Man, was that living large! It was a beautiful piece in its day.
Enjoy the quiz if you are brave. Some of the question brought back some fond memories. GO CUBS!
