With a company name that goes back to Oskar Heil's original Air Motion Transformer, ESS has several speakers using drivers following the AMT design. The one that caught my eye was the ESS AMT 12V ($4400/pair), a floorstanding speaker that has a large compartment for storing LPs. What a great idea! Why waste the space? Rico Caudillo of ESS told me that the stored LPs actually improve the sound. Take that, you vinylphobes!
