Thought I'd start this topic off for fellow Bob James fans to discuss his music!
I was really excited to learn that he is releasing a new album on Jan 28th 2022 called "Feel Like Making LIVE!"-- apparently it's meant to be a collection of some of his most famous tracks re-worked, like "Angela", "Topside" and "Nautilus", in a funky jazz trio format. He also covers "Rocket Man" by Elton John, and "Feel Like Making Love/ Night Crawler" which are currently out on Spotify and sound SO good. Also, gotta say that I'm loving the live concept of this album.
It's being released by his label evosound, which so far have really impressed me with the quality and variety of their sound recordings-- like just taking the below from their socials, this sounds sick:
The album will be available in five different physical formats: 180gram Limited Numbered orange double vinyl LP, SACD, MQA-CD, MQA-CD + blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray. The hybrid SACD includes the DSD stereo and 5.1 surround sound for the ultimate sound quality experience. MQA is an award-winning technology that delivers the sound of the studio. MQA-CD plays on all CD players. When a conventional CD player is connected to an MQA-enabled device, the CD will reveal the original master quality. The live in-the-studio recording was stylishly filmed in 4K and recorded in high resolution audio and is available in Ultra HD blu-ray, which includes immersive sound with Dolby Atmos in Dolby TrueHD and Auro 3D. Bonus tracks and in-depth interviews are included. The music will also be available in uncompressed stereo at 96kHz / 24bit stereo formats.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think and we can open the floor!
