Most high end companies shun changers for a number of good reasons. Every dollar spent on that changing mechanism could have been spent on making a better sounding player. Changer mechanisms are also more complex mechanically, and hence more likely to malfunction. McIntosh made a changer based on the old Nakamachi music bank mechinism called the MCD205. Which I believe was recently discontinued. Some dealers may still have demos. Rotel makes an excellent carousel changer called the RCC1055. Outside of that I'm not aware of too many other options.

Thanks for the thoughts. Traditionally, I've stuck to single-disc units for the same reasons you mention. In this case, my wife has requested a changer if possible as she likes to hop around from disc to disc.

How about a Benchmark DAC with just about anything. Lucid makes a very nice DAC 9624 with a street price of about $600 with a headphone amp like the Benchmark.
Lucid Audio
RME has come out with a stand alone ADI-2 24/192 ADC/DAC combo piece that sell for about $600 and would help get better audio into your computer as well.
RMEAudio
There are a number of other DACs that would also do as well if not better including some from Apogee.
Apogee Digital
