Are there any new music artists you are wild about?

Sure we keep buying the old favorites over and over, but are there any new music artists you are wild about?

Check out Roberta Gambarini.

New becomes a much more encompassing term as you advance in years. The White Stripes are not new by most kids' standards, but I think Jack White is one of the greatest guitar players ever.

Nibs Van Der Spuy: Beautiful Feet. It is beautifully recording of fantastic music. One of my favorite albums of all-time.

As much as there are some songs/music pieces that I really like, I only bought back up/archival copies when I had less than 500 LPs and a Dual Table. Today, I have plenty of LPs and a much better turntable so I'm not worried about wearing out my records. Besides, the few CDs I buy don't wear out, forever stuck in their own purgatory. So, I'd rather buy new stuff. Sometimes, I have been known to buy a MoFi or something like, but as a rule of thumb I prefer to spend my money on new stuff. I mean, the world does NOT need fifty copies of Madonna/Pink Floyd/The Who when there's so much music in the vaults and being made today.

I don't believe in new music. Just kidding. I am pretty wild about TV On The Radio, The Fiery Furnaces, and Grizzly Bear.

I mostly enjoy the music I grew up with, but the latest efforts from Cat Power, The Greatest, and I've played the hell out of the Shins' latest, Wincing The Nite Away. But can there be a better experience to be had out there than playing those 2 LP sets cut at 45rpm from Analogue Productions? I don't think so. (BTW, I am Canadian and I definitely don't work for AP).

A saxaphonist by the name of John Coltrane... Amazing how something can sound so completely refreshing every time it's played. Newport '63 & '65.
