I'm considering a pair of JA RM22si Mk.2's for a 2ch stereo system in a room that is approximately 12'6"l x 11'5"w x 9'h. I listen to predominantly jazz, small ensemble/chamber music, female vocal and acoustic pop/rock. As a result, I would happily trade off slightly rolled-off low end for transparency, neutrality and soundstage/imaging capabilities, particularly in the mids and treble frequencies. Based on reviews (professional and consumer both), the JA RM 22's seem to possess the characteristics I'm looking for. Problem is that their dealer network is pretty thin in my area--closest retailer >2hrs away, making an audition difficult. I would be most grateful for any thoughts on these speakers from anyone out there that either has used, or currently uses them before I make the 4+ hour round trip. I would also be interested in any other suggestions for a +/- $2500/pair speaker recommendation that you think might meet the criteria listed above. Local dealers are recommending B&W 805S's at same price point.
I'd also be interested in whether you drove them with tube or SS and whether or not they were run in bi-wired or bi-amped modes.
Many thanks for any and all feedback!
