The 14th Annual Blues Masters at the Crossroads will be held on October 21st and 22nd at Blue Heaven Studios in Salina, Kansas.

Formerly the Salina First Christian Church, Blue Heaven is a Gothic-style structure built of brick, limestone, and wood. Dedicated in 1927, the church was designed to offer clear and natural sound with minimal reinforcement, making it ideal for both live performances and as a recording studio. The well-maintained pews and balcony hold just 450 people, creating a unique and intimate setting. Acoustic Sounds’ Chad Kassem purchased the church in 1996 and soon transformed it into Blue Heaven where he would endeavor to record as many blues legends as possible. Since 1998, Blue Heaven has hosted renowned recording engineers such as AudioQuest’s Joe Harley and Stereophile’s John Atkinson, and artists such as Honeyboy Edwards, Wild Child Butler, and Jimmie Lee Robinson.

On Friday, the 21st, Blue Heaven will host Jimmy Hall, Trampled Under Foot, Clayton Sampy, Roy Head, Marquise Knox, Bobby Allen, Lil’ Buck Sinegal, Lazy Lester, and Joe Beard. On Saturday, the 22nd, Larry McCray, Little Freddie King, Corey Harris and Phil Wiggins, and Doug MacLeod will take the stage. Doors open at 6:45pm and performances begin at 7:15pm. General admission tickets are priced at $50/night.

In addition to the performances, Blues Masters Weekend provides an open house of the entire Acoustic Sounds facility, including tours of Chad Kassem’s new Quality Record Pressings record pressing plant, the Acoustic Sounds headquarters, and the 30,000 square foot Acoustic Sounds warehouse, chock full of beautiful records and awesome gear.
