Try an NAD C275BEE power amplifier @150 wpc. This model is a great amp that retails for around 1400.00.Is this particular Maggie bi ampable?
no, from what I see on the back they're not bi-ampable. They do have this high-frequency attenuator switch which I'm guessing is to protect amplifiers which are incapable of driving down to 2 ohms.
What amp are you using now that sounds so good with them?
for the time being I'm using an AVR.I can't afford a good amp right now but I'll get one soon. I just keep the volume down. It has 90wpc but I'm not sure if it's capable of driving low impedance speakers. Magnepan assured me it'll work fine as long as I don't overdrive the amp. They said to feel the top of the AVR and if it doesn't get hot I'm good. These speakers aren't really high-volume speakers anyway. They sound best at medium volume.Tha AVR is a Yamaha Aventage.
