Hey guys, did anyone ever compare these two speakers in the same setup by any chance?
I currently have a pair of Wilson Audio Alexx speakers in my dedicated 2ch setup listening room paired with 2 pairs of Dan D'Agostino Momentum M400 monoblock amps, Audio Research Reference 10 linestage preamp.
My digital front end source components are DCS Vivaldi full four stacks separate units that consist of DCS Vivaldi master clock unit, DCS Vivaldi upsampler unit, DCS Vivaldi DAC unit, DCS Vivaldi CD/SACD transport unit.
My new analog rigs consist of a Kronos Pro turntable, 12" Black Beauty tonearm, Air Tight PC-1 Supreme mc cartridge, dual channel pure class A linear power supply unit for the turntable, dedicated Kronos turntable stand, and the Audio Research Reference 10 linestage preamp.
Speaker cables are Transparent Magnum Opus. All interconnects and power cables are Transparent Opus.
Wondering how would the Wilson Alexx compare to the Magico M6 sonically in my setup. Anyone has had any experience with the Magico M6 paired with same or similar gears as the ones I have in my setup?
I am thinking to deviate from Wilson Audio and am considering the Magico M6 speakers ($176k/pair). The Magico M6 cost more than my Wilson Alexx ($115k/pair). So, I would need some opinions on the Magico M6 in comparison to my Wilson Alexx before I make a purchase. We do not have any Magico dealer here in my area (Seattle area). I will have to fly to California in order to listen to the Magico M6 if only they have the M6 available on for demo as they are higher end series of Magico. Dealers rarely have speakers that cost close to $200k/pair available for demo on display.
Therefore the chances I will be able to demo the M6 are pretty slim I think.
I am also considering the Sonus Faber Aida, which is Sonus Faber flagship speaker. I have listened to Sonus Faber Lilium before, which is a lower end series than the Aida but implements same drivers as the Aida. I did like the Lilium.
If I go this route, most likely I will trade in my 2 pairs of Dan D'Agostino Momentum M400 monoblock amps for a pair of Audio Research Reference 750 SE vacuum tube monoblock amps. These two amps retail for exact same price for $65k per pair.
Your opinions on the Wilson Alexx vs Magico M6 will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
