Not usually, provided it's a line level input like CD, AUX, DVD, Tuner or the like. The phono preamp is simply taking the low level ouput of the cartridge and increasing it to a level that more closely mirrors the line level gear. Occasionally, there could be an input that bypasses the tone control circuitry or one of the line level inputs bleeds noise into the one next to it, but that's not all that common.

Any line-level input is fine, but DO NOT plug it into one labelled "PHONO", becuse you will overload it.
