I have a Yamaha RX-V383 entry level 5.1 AV Receiver and have my 2 front Klipsch bookshelf 8 ohm speakers, with an 8 ohm Center Channel speaker, 8 ohm Yamaha Subwoofer, and just got a pair of PBS" 6" ohm Speaker which I have hooked up to the Rear Left & Right Channel...
As these PBS Speakers are 6 ohm, am I safe in using this configaration *I have my Yamaha Receiver set on the 8 ohm option*
Thanks for for any advice or suggestions...

That receiver will not give you much in the way of dynamics, and may distort if pushed hard at all. It only has around 25 watts per channel available when driving 5 channels (145W maximum total output/5).

If you can set the reciver for 6 ohms, you should definitely do so (I assume that you mean PSB speakers, by the way...).

You also should consider getting a much more capable receiver. Your receiver is not adequate to drive ANY 5 speakers properly.

The Denon AVR-S920W is a far more capable receiver that will give you much better dynamics and be capable of driving 5 speakers without significant distortion.

Amazon is currently selling it for only $390, which is a steal. Many comparable receivers go for $600-800.
