Bose speakers are actually very natural sounding. The issue with Acoustimas is that the low frequencies can sound localized coming from the subwoofer due to the relatively high frequencies coming out of the subwoofer.
I own the speakers in the B&E HT-60 system, they are he M-1s. They are a good sounding but forward/slightly bright speaker but with MUCH better bass response. They will sound less natural above 200hz but because the base response goes too 65-70hz as opposed to 150-200hz the Omni directional nature of the subwoofer will be more effective.
The HT-60 system will sound best with a Marantz Receiver with Audyssey running. The slight warmth of the Marantz combined with the equalizer will help soften those hard edges and will be very good sounding.
