I suggest that you look at the Audio Research LS28 preamp.
It is excellent.
thanks

for the answer, audio-research ls 28 good but i prefer ref.6
I currently use the Jeff Rowland model 8t a Gryphon Pandora preamp
but I would like to know other people's opinions with what pre have had a good experience. in my opinion, it requires a warm, full-bodied preamplifier and not very open.
This might be a better question in the audiogon forums. No guarantees but it's possible you might find more people who have direct experience.
I own a modded Rowland Model 8T...great amp. It is a superb match with the CAT preamp. A Renaissance Black path or a Legend Black path are superb matches to this amp.
You are right to look at matching it up to a great tube preamp.
