If she helped him design a speaker recently it would be the ALSs. They are unique. I have not met him but his gear along with Infinity is what got me into this.
I am thinking there is a good chance I may be dusting off my Carver preamp and power amp in the near future. if all goes well I will move on June 1st and assuming I have my office, I will setup my Revels with the Carver equipment and probably get a Bluesound Node2 as a source.
My friend said yes it was the ALS. I loved Bob Carver's older gears and older Infinity speakers back when Infinity was still Infinity, not Harman.
In regards to your old Carver preamp & power amp. If the power amp hasn't been used for years you might come across into some issues. The caps will probably dried out and need replacement.
I knew someone who had an older Levinson amp that he hasn't used for years and when he tried to turn it on for the first time after years of sitting idle in his storage......there was a smoke coming out of it due to dried capacitors.
Amazon has currently a used Musical Fidelity M5si for $999. It normally retails for $2k. Ypu should grab it while it's still available. The MF M5si is an excellent integrated and will pair well with your Revels.
Unfortunately i just bought these speakers and some new tubes for the Rogue. That is enough for now. I am certain that the Carver equipment needs a refurb but I can get that done for about $200 -$300 locally. I will probably get a new integrated at a later date but need to be patient now.
