An Advertisement for Myself

Hey, why have a blog if you can't plug your own wares now and then? Today, March 1, is pub date for my new book, Dark Territory: The Secret History of Cyber War (Simon & Schuster). John le Carré calls it "a book that grips, informs, and alarms, finely researched and lucidly related." The New York Times hails it as "an eye-opening history . . . a page-turner . . . consistently surprising." Kirkus Reviews describes it as "important, gripping, disturbing."

You can find a synopsis here. So what are you waiting for? Buy your copy today.

End of self-aggrandizing announcement. Back to the music.

Good luck with the book, Mr.kaplan. I've always enjoyed your wriiting on Slate. Your work here in Stereophile is okay, too :). When something is happening in the world (when is it not) I always look for your informative and fair articles.

I had this pre-ordered and I think it shipped a couple of days ago. I didn't even realize it was the same Fred Kaplan.

I boughht it because of the Times article. I love Wargames. I probably watch it once a year. Great memories. Mr Potato Head, Mr Potato Head, back doors are not secrets!
