This is easy, and you are trying to do it the hard way. Forget the HT Bypass.

I suggest that you simply use a pair of RCA "Y" splitters (eg. Triangle Cables #931 or Parts Express #240-127) to send the same signal to both the input of the tape deck and the Primaluna amp.

Just plug a splitter into each of the L and R output jacks of the source component, and then run a pair of L and R cables to both the tape deck and amp from the splitters.

I assume that the tape deck has record level controls to adjust to the signal level from the source component.

You might also want to set it up so you can switch from one source to another easily for recording without having to move the cables and splitters around.

Get the Cables To Go #28750 audio switch box ($18.99 at Amazon) and connect all your source components to its inputs (there are 4). Ignore the video jacks.

The switch box has two sets of outputs, which actually eliminates the need for the splitters. Just plug the cables to the amp into output jacks #1 and the cables to the tape deck into output jacks #2.

Now all you have to do is push a button to select your source and it will go to both the amp and tape deck.
