There seems to be doubt in some quarters whether Emotiva is still alive and well. I have seen a number of posts expressing frustration with the apparent demise of their customer service department; inability to do anything but leave one message after another; no actual contact. I would not have anything to do with them until i find out what is going on there.

The Audioengine A2, plus a small subwoofer, is a very good combination; that is what I use for my desk.

The PSB Alpha PS1 also seems to be very good.
