Why do you say that? What are the advantages of SD cards over USB ss drives?
Why do YOU say that? What are the advantages of solid state USB drives over regular USB hard drives especially when used to stream audio, which does not require a super fast data transfer rate?
Why query me? I was simply asking why you implied that the SD card is superior to other media.
Sorry Kal. I thought that you were implying that solid state hard drives were superior to normal, non-solid state hard drives when used to store and play back digital audio files. Apparently there is quite a bit of confusion over just how digital audio and computers actually work and this confusion is leading to plenty of voodoo and lots of snake oil in the audiophile world, such as saying things like playback from SD cards "sounds" better than playback from a normal hard drive.
It's all just solid-state memory.
The only "advantage" one way or the other is access speed via the associated circuitry.
There is also the issue of obsolesence.
The USB memory stick is probably around to stay for a while. Very large capacities are cheap.
SD cards might be another story.
My Olympus camera uses SM cards and those are all but obsolete now, although you can still find a few, at outrageous prices.
Of course, if there's a USB port, you can use SD.
