First of all, I would strongly recommend that you listen to the Gallo Acoustics CL-2 speakers. They are incredibly good.

You can also listen to them at home for 60 DAYS FREE; order them online and they will refund your money and pay shipping both ways if you should decide to return them; it's a no-brainer.

I think that the Arcam amplifier is a very good choice. Creek is also quite good, or possibly Rotel.

I had the NAD C356BEE and hated it; it seemed to have very muddled bass with my PSB Image T6 speakers, which have excellent bass with most other amplifiers. Its overall sound was not good. My older cheaper C325BEE sounded much better.

I replaced it with the Musical Fidelity M3i, which is a very nice amplifier.

A unit that is quite good and amazingly cheap is the Harman-Kardon 3490 stereo receiver, which is under $500. I would prefer it over most NAD or Cambridge amplifiers.

I had the A80, which was essentially the now deceased DiVA version of that line.  I was very happy with it and bought it over the Cambridge amps I had heard in a similar price range.  They seem to have taken the A80/A85 amp and given it Mask Of Silience bottom plate (similar to what GM started using for thier floorplans in Buicks and Cadillacs), aluminum face, heavier casing, and so forth.  The computer controlled logic was a joy to use and the volume control was a joy.  My guess if you appreciate ergonomics you'll love the Arcam.  The sound is really wonderful in a tuneful British, driving and well paced way.
