Hi Teegood64,

This is a typical for our subscription services.

Each month before subscribers' magazines are printed, the printer (who mails the subscription magazines), receives an updated list. This list is sent on a monthly basis from the company that handles subscriptions. So theoretically, the list is only updated once a month, and the new updates (unless their timing is absolutely perfect) don't get into the next issue until about 4 weeks from its submission.

So yes, unfortunately, this is the typical wait time for a new subscription. It has little to do with the internet, and more to do with when our magazine is scheduled to print and if the subscription list receives your added name before the print run.

Thanks for subscribing. If you do not receive your issue within 4-6 weeks of signing up, you may contact our subscription services at stereophile@palmcoastd.com or (800) 666-3746

Thank you for the response. I am aware of printers and their requirements, but I assume Stereophile pays a fair amount to its printers for the service. The important aspect of it is that in the last month I purchased an amp and a pair of speakers and a host of other associated audio items. The reason I subscribed is that I was wanting to know more about what to purchase! So while Stereophile may not care about how fast someone gets a magazine after subscribing, you would think that a fair amount of people subscribe for the same reason as I did (and most will not wait a month to spend it!), and you would think that Stereophiles advertisers would benefit from increased sales if your printer was a little more flexible.

Why not ask the posters on this forum if you have questions about gear? I'm fairly certain you'll get answers in a timely fashion.

and the forces behind this site told me my JBL L830 speakers sucked! So I purchased a pair of PSB B6 speakers and an NAD 356BEE amplifier. All the better for it. Finally got a magazine but I'm all tapped out now!! lol

I`ve been a subscriber for a good 12 yrs now.   I have had the occasional issues with my subscription also. Just a couple times in that 12 yrs.  I buy one for myself and a subscription every year as a gift for my brother,  getting both for the price of one.

There was one time when I had payed and after a couple months, we realized we hadnt gotten our magazines so I called and got it taken care of and prompty too. There was no "phone gauntlet" just talked to one girl and she gave us a free year each after that mistake. The last time was recently, I`d payed for it but kept getting "last chance to renew" letters so I called and they let me know my account was up to date, and she also explained a few things to me.

Long story short, when there is an issue with your subscription a phone call takes care of it pretty fast.
