RP3, RM5.1, or traveller table? For a modest entry level system..

1. I don't really know. 2. Stephen Meijas compared the Traveller directly to his Rega (i think the P3-34) and thought the VPI was better.
Note the VPI doesn't have a dust cover.
I think we are going to go with the rega, I think the Traveller may be a better long term table, but it will be at least 600 hundred more than the rega with a cartridge and dust cover and I think that is just too much right now considering the overall budget for future upgrades, better amp and speakers. I have a feeling that we'll be happy with the RP3 for the foreseeable future. The TT PSU, and and better cartridge should allow me to upgrade in the future if the rest of the system catches up to the table.

Another good choice would be the Music Hall MMF-2.2.
For only $500 you get a very good turntable.
The included cartridge is only fair,but spending another $300 or so on a Benz Micro cartridge will give you some excellent sound with that turntable.
Looked at the music hall as well.. decided on the Rega RP3 and ordered it. Excited to get it... thanks for the feedback.
or so with my Planar 3. Upgraded motor supply and cartridge (Grado. Hums, but great!) and still loving it. It's really really great. You'll love it.
