Goddam. What does a man have to do around here to get a reply?
Sorry, but this is not a vintage oriented site. The most vintage you'll find around here is the posters. Contrary to popular opinion a device being vintage has no bearing on it's quality or sound. Most receivers are a compromise at best. Most of the posters here have separate components. They usually sound better than receivers and offer far more flexibility.
With that said, the Luxman receiver you have has a reputation of being one of the better receivers. Rogers speakers also have a good reputation.
If you are solely interested in vintage gear check out www.audiokarma.org . There are plenty of posters there that think vintage gear is the best there ever was. Those who post here generally don't feel that way. I should point out that I regularly contribute to the postings at Audio Karma. I use the same screen name here and there.
Not once in 47 years of involvement in this "passion" have I owned a receiver. I currently have and use a mix a newer and vintage gear. I really don't care when something was made. I only care about how it sounds.
Thanks for the response Joe. I recognize your avatar from the AudioKarma site. It sure is a smaller world then you think. From what you say this site mainly deals with newer gear with an emphasis on separates. I understand that but audio is audio. I posted this in the entry level section thinking that more experienced posters may have something to offer in the way of helpful comment. Does silence indicate YANW? If that sounds a bit defensive it probably is. I will now retire back to the AudioKarma site where I obviously belong. Peace.
Unlike AK posters here tend to not post unless they can add something.
