the NAD 356BEE inegrated amp with 80 watts per channel for under $1000 . or you could spend a lil more and get a lot more by moving up to a seperate pre amp and seperate mono block amps and get the emotiva usp-1 pre amp and two emotiva upa-1 mono block amps (200 watts per channel) all for under $1200. i see they have a 10 percent off sale on the usp-1 and the upa-1's. this should knock off a hundred dollars. you could always try them in your home for 30 days and they offer a money back program if sent back before 30 days is up. good luck. i have two upa-1's and think they are a great bang for the buck. www.emotiva.com i never thought i'd be able to afford a mono block amp set up, but with emotiva i now can.
I just happen to have a like-new NAD 356BEE you can have for $550 plus shipping. I replaced it with a Musical Fidelity M3I, which I like better, but that is $1500. The NAD might be the best one for under $1000.
