And I have some nice filled steel stands, 75.00, you'll need them.

Pioneer SP-BS41-LR $150/pair A real overachiever designed by Andrew Jones. http://www.stereophile.com/content/pioneer-sp-bs41-lr-loudspeaker

Or forget about putting speakers on stands and just get the SP-BS41-LR's big brother the SP-BS51-LR for $200/pair. http://myblog-online.co.uk/2011/03/review-pioneer-sp-fs51-lr-floorstanding-speakers/ Sounds like they would be a good fit for your application.

floorstanding and tower speakers are fine too, if i can get a bit more "fill" in the room, i'm willing ot sacrifice a bit of quality

aren't those pioneer towers 6 ohms? will they work?

so my friend gave me these dusty things out of his garage, hooked them up to a pair of $150 floorstanders, i'm already pretty impressed... here's the issue, one of the floorstanders is screwy and I figure it will cost at least $100 to fix it... I'm no audiophile, I listen to music in my jeep with the top down and I'm fine...I just want the best bang for the buck at the price I'm willing to pay Budget: $300 (strict) shipped. Sound I'm looking for: room-filling (medium apartment), deep sound-stage speakers with a bit of treble roll off and good bass
