I built an HTPC that is connected directly to a 5-channel amp and am using the audio out on the motherboard. This card will allow me to use regular RCA's (as opposed to the mini-jacks), and will support up to 7.1 channel audio. Plus it has much better S/N. 

I'm also interested to see more responses on this subject.
