I worked as one of Carter's hired guns for his last two years as president. By coincidence I was visiting Arlington today. Specifically, the Iran Rescue graves. Some of the names I remember well. Carter was a worthless fuck. If you are president and your ratings go below his than you have a major problem to deal with. After Carter, I became one of Reagan's hired guns. Things changed with Reagan. The USSR got worried and we started preparing for Iran, which we are still doing to this day. I pity those poor motherfuckers. It is getting close to pay back time and those worthless pricks have it coming to them. In spades. But not under Obama's command. We will just fuck that up as well.
I guess from this survey we can conclude that a presidents popularity does not equate to results that benefit the general public.
Well, Harry Truman did do a good job of promoting communism within his own administration.
Lamont,
I remember that failed attempt. Probably, if not, the most embarrasing event presented upon the world stage. Carter made America look foolish and apathetic. With that said, God bless those American heroes that lost their lives in that failed mission. So many great American soldiers have lost their lives due to incompetent administrations full of politicians that tie the hands of our brilliant military commanders. The ever changing 'rules of engagement' makes me sick!
You 100% right on Reagan. Reagan exhibited strength and did not tolerate dictators. Reagan's policy of 'trust but verify' was brilliant. Look how he handled Quadaffi. On the other hand, Jimmy Carter never met a dictator he didn't like. He negotiated with the military junta in Haiti even while human rights groups condemned them. Not that his negotiations led to anything; Haiti remains today what it has remained throughout the post-colonial period - a Carribean backwater run by military strongmen.
Carter has been a self-deluded pawn for dictators, and the anti-American European left-wing. When Carter took office in 1977, he received a moderately growing economy in which inflation was 5.4 percent and interest rates were around 8 percent. When he left office, the Soviets were entrenched in Afghanistan, Iranian students had been holding US State Department personnel and US Marines hostage for 444 days, the American military had been gutted by the administration's post-Vietnam cutbacks, American prestige was in tatters abroad and inflation was in the double digits and interest rates were so high it was impossible for Americans to finance large purchases like homes and cars. Carter's administration is without a doubt the worst in modern American history, yet Carter himself blamed his failures on a "national malaise". This "malaise" kept his Democratic party out of power for 12 years; even today it wrestles to free itself from a failure within the United States and the admission of North Korea only shows once again that he is a failure abroad as well. A Nobel Prize will never obscure these facts.
Obama is carrying on that failed legacy, only with Obama, it's amplified ten-fold.
Talk about approval ratings, our Governor Rick Scott in Florida has the worst approval rating across the US. The man's evil and Obama rating doesn't even stand close to this person.
My previous governor was Bill Richardson. I saw he is under federal investigation again. This time for using taxpayer money to pay for his mistress. Nothing new but Bill is slippery. He'll never get caught at anything.
mav52,
Are you in South Carolina or Florida? It shows that your in South Carolina.
I do like the fact that Rick Scott wants drug testing for welfare recipients.
I moved up to South Carolina in April of this year. I still have my home in Orlando waiting for the horrid market to return.
testing for welfare recipients, that is about the only thing he did. Like when he took office he sold the state plane and started using his own to help save the state some money but all along slick Rickie was having it updated using TAX payers money. So when he leaves office he takes his plane with him and Florida will have to buy another plane. Odd but so true.
Ok. cool. I pretty much had to do the same thing so I moved from Alabama to Tennessee. The 'Bama home is a renter now.
Scott sounds alot like the ex- Mayor of Montgomery, Al. Bobby Bright (D). Bright owned alot of Riverfront property in Montgomery. When he took office, he put all his property in his Mother's name.
Then Bright floated a 30 million dollar bond to "re-invigorate" the riverfront, massive landscaping projects, Belgian cobblestone round-a-bouts, built shops, restuarants, bars, built an ampitheatre, and brought in a minor league baseball team and built a pro stadium for them to play in.
Bright ran for Congress in 2008 and won. He served one term and got his corrupt ass kicked by (R) Martha Roby. Thank God.
He leaves office, guess what? His mom puts the property back into his name and now he has property worth multi-millions thanks to taxpayer monies when before, it was only a marginal investment.
To top it off, his wife is a district judge, so he has the legal angle taken care of, just in case. How do these jerks sleep at night is what I would like to know.
How do these jerks sleep at night is what I would like to know.
Well I would say at the moment they sleep with money in their bank account and no doubt smiling. Jerks for sure but their day will come.
Methinks soulless.terrain suffers from O.D.S.
So, is that it?
'Methinks' nobody gives a flying fuck what you think.
Using the term 'Methinks' doesn't make you sound intelligent either.
