The White House may not have known, or they very well might have known about the book purchases. Who really knows? This administration has "fundamentally transformed" lying into an art form. Obama has lied dozens of times about his healthcare scheme, along with HHS Secretary Sebelius. Nevermind all the lies that has been spread through his Czar appointments. 

Eric Holder testified in front of the judiciary that he did not know about Operation Fast and Furious, only to find out that he lied when it was made known that he was being briefed dozens of times a year prior on the Fast and Furious operation. The White House knows that they can lie without impunity because the media has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that when it comes to Democrats, all the media does is genuflect.

So, who really knows if the White House knew or not. I do not trust any of the political hacks that currently occupy the White House. But, on the other hand, they may not have known.

But yes, this $70,000 is wasteful spending whether it be a Democrat or Republican administration.

I remember all the flack Newt Gingrich took from the leftists in the media about his book back in 1996. Imagine if Newt would have used $70,000 of taxpayer money for his book. Media orgasms would have erupted from coast to coast. But with Obama, this is barely a blip on the media's radar.

I read a majority of the book, not all. And your spot-on, the book is boring as hell. I got tired of reading it. A high school dropout could have written a better autobiography if he were popping quaaludes and chasing them down with Jack Daniel shots.

It was actually kind of sad in a sense. The fact that his Mother; Anne Dunham, was a flighty socialist/commie, and you couple that with the fact that she hooked-up with radical communists, its no wonder Obama has the political ideology he has. The one person Obama should revere is his Grandmother who basically raised him while his mother was running around protesting against America. What does Obama say about her.. " She was a typical white person." What an ingrate. Wonder if that could be construed as racist, inquiring minds would like to know. Again, the complicit media strikes again. Not even a blip, except for talk radio.

It's also no great suprise that he couldn't keep a friend. If he displayed the arrogance, and hubris back then that he displays on a daily basis as president now, who in the hell could have tolerated being around him? If we only hand a nickel for every time he said "I", "Me", or "My" we would be rich.

You ever notice that Obama never talks about greatness of America and the private sector in the same context? With Obama, it's always the greatness of government programs and the private sector benefitting from government. That's backasswards.

In layman's terms:  You have your head up your ass. Which is a comfortable place for most complicit liberals concerning communists that existed within the Truman administration. Nothing new.
