I remember the first time I heard "Planet Caravan" I thought it was a jazz tune that was being played on the radio, only to find out it was Tommy Iommi. Sweet soloing at the end.

Paranoid on DVD-A, mmm…. Hearing this old war-horse, from my youth, in 24/96 would be cool. Is the multi-channel the actual quad mix from the day or newly done for the DVD-A? The original quad mixes for Pink Floyd’s DSOTM (torrentz sites) and Chicago’s CTA (Rhino handmade) are pretty cool on their respective DVD-As. But the multi-channel on Metallica’s Black Album was a bit crazy at times. The normal band stuff was okay, but the solos would sometimes sneak up from the rear left or right and then pan across. Was a bit odd.

Mark…pssst, it’s Tony not Tommy Iommi. I’ll keep it on the down low so you don't lose any rocker cred. :)

The quad mix is definitely from back in the day! And it is honestly laughable in spots, but I still found it entertaining because of the novelty. I know those tracks well, and here they were in a very different context. Lee, I have not heard the CTA mix yet, but it is on a purchase list. Sounds like you enjoy it, so that moves it up the list! As I said though, the cd that has most of the backing tracks with no vocals is killer. When Ozzy does not come in on War Pigs, it brings on this huge cognitive dissonance that it really interesting to experience. It makes me start singing, every time, and I am usually quiet when I listen.

Yeah, the CTA quad is good, Rhino cleaned it up good. But DSOTM is really neat, since it’s the leaked Alan Parsons quad mix. I also have DSOTM on SACD, but it's multi-ch seems a little meek and sterile compared to the quad mix. YMMV.

A War Pigs sing-a-long, eh? I took my oldest son to Ozzfest 2007, and that was a crazy song to look around and see the huge variety of folks singing it. Was a bit surreal, since there were teens and people on AARP, lol. Just an awesome tune, always has been.

My mistake. I have always called him Tommy for like, ages. Damn!

What has always blown my mind was him playing that good with those finger tip extentions. The guy is like Gilmour, he never makes mistakes.

Yep, Tony and Dave are top shelf. Unfortunately, I have never seen Tony live. I almost saw Sabbath on a double bill with Pantera, but Ozzy cancelled the gig twice in Denver. What sucks even more about that show is Dime being gone now. But I did see Dave on the last Floyd tour in '94 at the old Mile High stadium, very nice.

The one band I have never got to see Live, Pink Floyd. Hopefully that'll change.

BTW: Like your screen name.  Huge fan of EVH.

Wow, in all of the years (since mid-80’s) that I’ve used that name / tag, nobody has ever gotten the actual Eddie reference, lol. All sorts of other stuff gets mentioned, but never Eddie. Very cool.
