She has her dad's technique of looking at her fingers while playing.)
Cute kiddo and no doubt, proud pop.
My 14-year old daughter Emily made her debut Saturday night at Rocky Sullivan's, a bar in the Red Hook district of Brooklyn. The band was put together by her bass teacher, Drew Fleming, who played keyboards and sung at the gig. While the two teenage guitarists were distinguished by having more enthusiasm than chops, Emily's bass playing was rock-solid and she locked into a groove with drummer Mike Corrado (who was 10 the day before the gig!)
The set list included "Come Together," "Wish You Were Here," "Sweet Home Alabama," "Green-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands," a Fugazi tune, and Green Day's "My Holiday."
