When I reviewed the Wilson Sophias, I used the Halcro amps for some of the time, which took up as much space as the speakers and blocked access to some of my LPs! Note the circuit-breaker panel behind the components

Is it a good idea to be so close to the panel with the electronics? I have been in that position is the past and always wonder, what if any effect it had on the sound.

I don't think its a problem (unless I am struck by lightning) and you get the the sonic advantage of having a very short AC run back to the circuit breaker.

John, it may also be a violation of NEC, not having the panel readily accesible, really. No joke. Open space requirments are NEC rules on lighting/service panels.
