If you aren't opposed to used equipment,  the Musical Fidelity A5 or A5.5 integrateds are exceptional values.

Just curious why you think those used MF amps would be a good fit (I don't object to used, if the product is compelling).

they have the power and current delivery you seem to be after, and a reputation for combining that with a smooth, nuetral almost tubelike sound character.  250 watts of great sound at approx $1500.00 used, or less.  What's not to like?  :-)
