So you don't want to know there's a 40' tsunami coming at you in downtown Manhattan.

Suit yourself.

a guarantee to kill service if there is a real emergency as the system is overwhelmed.

The service is claimed to bypass the regular cellphone system, so when that system is overwhelmed, as it was on 9/11, the energency messages will still get through.

Not sure why you are objecting. Surely early warning of natural or man-made disasters is a good thing.

That is the problem...you have no option...I live in Southern Idaho...Now and again all cable channels are interupted for amber allerts.....more often than not covering the northern corner of the state 400 miles from here.

What I am saying is 99% of the messages sent will have zip to do with any individuals life or location...I am also unclear wo pays for this 'service'.

Besides, does anyone anywhere really need another way to hear BoBo lie?

John, what the new 'service' does is prioritize so as to make the call YOU desire to make to your family in that emergency impossible while letting government BS through...

If I want to hear the government, I can turn on TV or radio...I certainly do not need government invading my phone as well.
