Just got the latest (May 2011) print issue. There are folks in other portable-gear message boards that need to see/read those metrics JA extracted from the non-oversampling HiFiman 602. Any chance those will be on the web site soon? Thx!
BTW ... now that Stereophile has got the ball rolling, it would be nice if other portable DAP could also be reviewed/tested ... e.g., HiFiman 801, MP4Nation S:Flo2, QLS QA-350. Those use modern DACs chips (with reconstruction oversampling filters). Also, an upcoming DAP from -- where else -- China, the Fiio X3, is supposed to be able to support 24/192 hi-rez files:

Roy Hall, a true sage.
Hope everyone's back safely, nasty weather in the deep south lately.
By the way, I noticed that JA and Mikey parked their car's right there in front of the Stereophile booth. Couldn't bring themselves to park in the hotel garage like everyone else huh.
On a more serious note, were you able to sit in the Lamborghini? I've always wondered if I could get my 6' 9" frame into one of those and still be able to drive it.

I would have been like Pavlov's Dog when they started that Lambo up.
Similar reaction to hearing a Koetsu and a big string piece for the first time. You do have a profound reaction .. and that is a good thing.

One day I was riding along in my usual average car (probably a Jetta at the time) when I noticed this Thing up ahead, something not just a "car" but much, much more: a Lamborghini. It moved and sounded like nothing I'd ever seen on the road. Forget anything American, even forget anything sporty from Germany. This was nothing like those, not at all.
And the road was just a regular 35 MPH road with traffic and such, and still: it made you want to be near it. That car instantly induced some kind of male machine-lust hormone in me, and I really don't care much about cars normally. When it finally revved up a bit and pulled away, the sound clinched it immediately. Right then, I got it. I wanted it, badly.
Then I remembered it cost around what my house cost and continued on to the grocery store.
You got "auto wood" :)
