I use 'star grounding' and have been very happy with it.
It made an audible difference in low level noise.
What exactly are you meaning by "component grounding"?

I found that by attaching a extra ground to my TT plinth, I was able to reduce phono noise.So yes I have two phono grounds: one from the tonearm and the other from the plinth.
