I understand Stereophile's thinking on revammping the site and all that, but the simple fact is the new Forum is a lot less enjoyable and user friendly. Whether or not that explains the drop in use, I don't know, but it's pretty clear that the "Forum" aspect of the site is not a substantial concern by the decision makers.
I've always moved in and out of the hobby part of audio and wouldn't be surprised if many others do the same and so perhaps some of the old guys will drift back in over time.
but I miss the give and take. Let's get some back!

Be careful what you wish for.

hopefully nobody will think we are monopolizing the site. I don't feel so good about seeing my name as the latest poster in so many categories.
but I like the alternative, a fairly dead site, far less. If you and I post a lot but are affable and humble about it, I think we can get away with it for awhile. It looks to me like posts are going up a bit, so our artificial postarrhea will not last forever.
