I disagree, there is a lot of comment, just few posters.
Yeah, the switch lost some people. I miss them! Especially Keld the big nut!
Let's just carry on and keep enjoying each other and the forum and then we will be the old guys who keep things rocking!
Trey
It's been over a month since they asked for suggestions as to how they might improve this disaster. I have not seen _one_ of those suggestions implemented.
At this point one can't help wonder if this forum wasn't a royal pain in their ass and they could care less about improvements or the participants. Sad...

Iv'e been reading Stereophile for years , but I'm fairly new to this forum . Was it more lively before ?
I wonder if part of the reason is an inability to post. It took more than a week of having a request for a new password ignored before I wised up and sent an email directly to John Iverson. He responded very promptly. I've still had no response to my "standard" requests for password assistance. I even tried to open a new account (different email address) and have received no confirmation of that either.
Thank you very much John.
Yes, and you could post images...I hope they regain the folk who left.
For whatever reason, the confirming EMail was never sent.

this place has become so moribund, but the format is so uninviting. This had become my favorite audio forum.
Welshsox, check out Audio Asylum for more activity. The Phile writers post a lot at critics corner.
Outside Asylum gets very lively re politics.
You walk into the room
With your pencil in your hand
You see somebody naked
And you say, `Who is that man?`
You try so hard
But you don`t understand
Just what you`ll say
When you get home
Because something is happening here
But you don`t know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?
You raise up your head
And you ask, `Is this where it is?`
And somebody points to you and says
`It`s his`
And you say, `What`s mine?`
And somebody else says, `Where what is?`
And you say, `Oh my God
Am I here all alone?`
Because something is happening here
But you don`t know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

Forums, like life, are what you make them. Let's make this one better than before!

I agree.
Awhile back, I asked if images could be posted like in the past. Haven't seen it come to fruition yet. I think my sentiments represent the vast majority of posters here on the forum.
PLEASE bring back the ability to post images.

AMEN Soulful!
Yep,
I rarely visit the site or the forums any more.
I was never a big contributor (not enough time to devote to what were some amazing discusssion with all different viewpoints, wit and personalities.
The new format of the website and the forums sucks for me.
I think the website itself has gone upside down.
(Large) Images have become eye candy but for me, well designed text headlines that lead to eye candy was much easier to navigate and determine what and what I didnt want to drill down on.
The new forum format has gone much the same way... to much white space... too much empty space and a compressed (width wize) format.
And the operation of the forum seems to be less. In this my 1st post, I cant for example remove the parts of a quoted post that I dont want (not good when quoting May Belt) and I had to enter the subject text.
Summary... a totally unappealing web experience.
Peter
In my previous post, I quoted a "tomjtx " post... the quote wasnt included AND although I was the latest poster... I was made poster #11 instead of #15?
Makes it to follow.
PS.
I just changed to "flat list expanded" format and that helped make the order in sequence
SO.... "flat list expanded" also allows me to edit a quote... this should be the default format for the forum
are basically ignored, but thanks for noticing.
RG
yep - should be now...
thanks for the recommendation
