Is this a trick question?

I don't really have one, but for get togethers or hanging out Zero 7, Bill Evans, Diana Krall, and Beck all seem to make it into the mix. Yeah, not the "party" music of days younger, but it serves.

Commodores' self-titled album (1977), definitely. Always makes for a funky situation.

Starting To Hurt: Ryan Adams' single. New Young Pony Club: How To Make Gravy: Paul Kelly. I'm In Love With A German Film Star: Sam Taylor Wood/PSB

You cant go wrong with anything by Hank 3 to get things rocking on a Saturday night.

Bruckner! (Just the fast parts.) Actually, nothing makes a party rock more than some good Gamelan Gong Kebyar—loud enough to crack your batik wax off.

Trentemoller (any CD). Thievery Corporation (Abduction...). Brand New Heavies (Acid Jazz Years).

10cc: Deceptive Bends. I just love these guys' type of humor & they know how to rock, too.

When I have to spend my Saturday evening at home listening to music, it will likely be Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.

This season in Sweden (dark, cold and lot of snow), I can enjoy Marie Boine's Iddjagiedas. Good music & sound with a norhternlight glow.

Saturday night I like to chill out. Usually I find myself reaching for the Tord Gustafvsen Trio or Tomasz Stanko. Nice chilled-out jazz.

I just go with whatever mood I am in at the time. Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt, etc. Just whatever I think of during the day that I want listen too. I am so impulsive I scare me to death!

It's a tie: Your favorite Chili Peppers record or your favorite Jane's Addiction record.

TV On The Radio, or Arcade Fire.

What I play depends on my mood at that moment. I do not segregate as weekend music or anything else for that matter.

Hmm! I usually like to go out on the weekends, but before going I make it a point to play "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" by Elton John, just in case!

On Saturday, I'm out listing to live music.

Robin Banks: Live After Dark. Very upbeat blues from a singer/band I saw in a bar in Dallas some years ago. Excellent sound for a somewhat unknown band—guaranteed to get the house moving and especially good when guests are in another room, if that makes any sense.

Acoustic or any vocal house. Depends on the mood.

John Brown's picture

Any by Tower of Power.

Beggar's Banquet. What other choice could there possibly be?
