Raising Sand by Robert plant and what's-her-name.

Don't have one since I haven't heard/bought any new releases in 2007. Was there anything new?

Part of me says Two Organ Landmarks in Columbus on Raven CD but then it was recorded in my church by my music director, so I might be prejuidiced. So how about Challengers by The New Pornographers?

Rush: Snakes & Arrows

Wilco: Sky Blue Sky. Not as electronic as their previous two records, but very high quality within a simple format. I also like the free CD that came with the LP set.

Not a great year for new releases, but here they are. Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole: Wonderful World; Neil Young: Live at Massey Hall, especially the 24/96 DVD-Audio; John Phillips: Jack of Diamonds: Jimmy Buffett:Live in Anguilla; Paul McCartney: Memory Almost Full.

Tough question, still seaching "Best Of 07" sites for something great. Tired of seeing Radiohead and Arcade Fire... Some that I like are Bruce Hornsby's Camp Meeting, Jesca Hoop's Kismet, A Band Of Bees' Octopus. I'll be waiting to see what the other readers like.

Robert Plant/Allison Kraus: Raising Sand. Tasty stuff!

The Eagles' Long Road Out of Eden demonstrates why this band is still a true American classic. Audiophile approved, it ain't, but great music it is!

Wilco: Sky Blue Sky

Siouxsie's Manta Ray was a nice surprise on CD and vinyl, as was PJ Harvey's White Chalk, again on both CD and vinyl. I also really enjoyed 100 Days 100 Nights by Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings on vinyl. There may have been a couple of other new releases I bought this year, but those three alone make for more than I bought in 2006. Used vinyl continued to be my best bet for sound and music in 2007.

Wilco's Sky Blue Sky. Not a bad track on the whole album. Great melodies and Nels Cline's guitar is awesome, especially on Impossible Journey. The vinyl is a R2D4. Close runner-ups were Raising Sand (Robert Plant & Alison Krauss), Wincing the Night Away (The Shins), Long Road to Eden (The Eagles) and Neil Young's Chrome Dreams II. The best thing about 2007 was that almost every new album was released in vinyl.
