H/K CDR-2 . . . if I could ever get my hands on one. Stereophile got my juices going with a teaser from one of the audio shows about CD recorders.

B&W Nautilus 804 Loudspeaker. Beautifully balanced, smooth and with a gorgeous mid-range, detailed highs and adequate bass response at its price point.

The Krell receiver. I don't own it, but I think there's a market for receivers made by upscale manufacturers. Some people don't want a lot of components sitting around.

BAT VK-50SE preamp. Solid, dynamic, and not too sweet.

I love my Dunlavy SC-IV/As, and they certainly get my nomination. But if the PS Audio P300 PowerPlant is everything the majority of folks seem to say it is (I haven't been fortunate enough to have experienced it yet), then it may be worthy of consideration.

Cello Encore 150. Cello, which has always been at the cutting edge of the electronics industry, has never been recognized as such by Stereophile. I feel that the new Encore 150 should winvthis year!!!!

Consider it a trick answer if you must, but the most satisfying audio product/experience of the year for me was E. Costello & B. Bacharach's "Painted from Memory"—an album to grow old with . . .
