Welcome to 2010...the year of the $25,000 disc players!(see EMM and TAD)What recession?
What about a red glowing "Emergency" button on the front side panel (on the next version; which would be possibly sold for say 28.000-USD). This button will dial up 911 through Ethernet when you push it desperately (while trying to escape from your attacking wife who learned that you have spent 28.000-USD for a CD player)
Price or not, what's with the display screen that looks ripped from a 1978 pong screen? I mean, we live in the age of beautifully clear iPhones and a plethora of dynamic interfaces. This screen sends the whole thing back a decade before CD players even existed!
All the equipment so far posted from the CES are priced in the stratosphere. If the CES is to stop shrinking and the hi-fi industry is to survive, manufacturers are going to have to come down to earth. These prices are ridiculous...Thank god for Audiogon.
