This is a joke? How much for the wires, and these speakers, that are missing several drivers in the cabinets? $13,000 for a 4 foot piece of magic wire? This has to be a joke, right? And these speakers are $39,000!!!!!!!? This is a goof, it has to be.

I have no commercial relationship with Feastrex, but since I am in a position to be able to do so, I wanted to give a reasonably thorough explanation to the previous poster, "DUP," concerning the pricing of these loudspeakers. All the rubbing and blather ain't gonna take physics out of the realm of this is pure nonsense, it simply can't move any air to make any sort of live sounding reproduction. you can't reproduce teh full spectrum of audio with an undersized driver, let alone try to convince people something rubbed by some useless paint is worth $39,000. Do you know what kind of SPEAKERS you can get for $39,000 that actually reproduce lifelike sound at realistic levels, and with money left over to get a real hand rub from some cute girl. This rubs me the wrong way. How much for a piece of wire, this is insane. What the heck is Washi paper, I've heard of wahsi clothes but paper? Paper cones are from about 1962, material science has advanced.

Looks like the same design cabinet that Nagaoka uses for new fostex fe138esr. A 5in wide band driver. I have the same design in my bedroom system. If you loved the sound but cant afford DIY your own with the fostex fe138esr. Plan ships with drivers. I have a pair and they are very good. Close enough to feastrex. And while cost is crazy hi for feastrex a fe138esr with its highly advanced cone design in cabinets thats near or the same as the feastrex design.( I bet its designed is by or inspired by Nagaoka) Can be DIY for around $2000 pair. A bit of a savings over feastrex. Which is cool but way to costly for performance. Since you can do close for far far less. Keep in mind this cab design is for fe138esr. Hope feastrex optimized for there driver. And DUP your not moving air your exciting air into motion a difference. And motor strength matters as much as cone area keep in mind the motor power of such drivers. More mag power in one of the fe138esr or feastrex than in all drivers in most pairs of loudspeakers.

I heard these speakers at the 2008 RMAF show in Denver and they were simply amazing. They smoked the big homogenized speaker systems in the show. There natural reproduction of timbre, texture and imaging is likely the best you will hear today. To those slamming them above, obviously you have not heard them and your narrow mindedness about cabling etc is a regression back to the days of Stereo Review. I realize nothing likely surpasses your home theater system so please spare us the naive commentary and watch a movie.

i have not heard of these feastrex but i have listened to the entry level 5nf feastrex. they sounded so good! infact, after listening to the feastrex, i went to other audio shops to listen to a few pairs of branded 3-way speakers that is near twice its price, still none of them come close to the feastrex. i cant imaging listening to their top end model....have a open mind, go have a listen..you will be surprise

These drivers, I am sure sound incredible, a bit pricy for a single point source device. Check out www.belifurari.com for the scoop on an incredible sounding bass transducer. This driver does not have a spyder or surround. Apparently the diaphragm is fixed to one end and moves at the other end. I have never heard more accurate bass than this. Absolutely a new direction for audio drivers. Watch this company, I think it is going to make some waves in the industry.

Actually, 'Monte Verdi' DUP has a point, and rubishing his opinion points to why so many people thing audiophiles are assholes. Feastrex don't put their prices on their website (clearly with good reason), suggesting instead that the price reflects "...real world cost". As the past couple of years have shown us all, the cost of commodities has far outstripped anything approaching reality in this world. Unless the little Japanese dude who sits their rubbing his speaker cones with urushi, saki, or wishywashi is concerned, unless he is only turning out 2-4 cones a year, his costs are not 'real world' at all. I suspect he is turning out many hundreds of these a year, netting him an income of many millions of $ a year. If he can find audiofools to pay him what he asks, then more foll them, but lets's not try and justify this. Simply alluding to the HTIB of DUB just makes you look an even bigger prick than you obviously are Monte Verdi...
